A warm welcome today to Cooks Square Park to the families and supporters of both Maitland FC and Valentine FC for the first 2019 match for Maitland FC, following our bye last week.
We continue to be very proud of the condition of the playing field surface here at Cooks Square Park, thanks to the underground irrigation installed by Maitland City Council in 2017. As a result of our success with the NSW Asian Cup 2015 Legacy Fund, some well overdue infrastructure improvements have been completed with a few more jobs still in progress. The new perimeter fence and player shelters have changed the look of the park and with additional seating to follow, Cooks Square will be much better prepared for some quality NPL football.
Maitland Football extends sincere thanks to Meryl Swanson, MP, Member for Paterson, for securing a commitment from her Canberra Party Office to spend $1 million on Cooks Square Park provided Labor wins the Federal election and Meryl wins her seat.
